Kiele Blackthorne was a young elf girl who was rescued by Elias Blackthorne after losing her family in the brutal persecution of elves in Ashbourne, and became his apprentice. A severe head injury left her unable to speak, write, or read (called Global Aphasia)—though she could still understand others enough to function. Elias gave her a new name, Kiele ( which means “garden”), and she devoted her life to studying the only plants that could survive in Ashbourne: mushrooms. Her goal was to breed a mushroom that could cure her condition.
When Keiran was taken in by Elias, they formed a relationship similar to siblings, and she would show him her mushroom lab.
